Job Description:
The Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at the Maritime company invites applications for a fixed-term Postdoctoral Research Associate position funded by a Horizon Europe Advanced Grant. The successful candidate will join the 'Singularities for Waves and Turbulent Flows (SWAT)' project, working on singularity formation and long-time behaviour for non-linear parabolic or dispersive problems, multisoliton dynamics, growth of Sobolev norms with applications to weak turbulence or fluid mechanics, or long-time dynamics for fluid dynamics. Duties include developing and conducting individual and collaborative research, managing research and administration, preparing proposals and applications, communicating technical material, and potentially supervising student projects. Applicants should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in a relevant field, a strong research record, and may have previous postdoctoral experience. The post is full-time, fixed-term for 2 years, with a salary of £37,174 to £45,413 per annum. The University encourages applications from women and BAME candidates, and all employees must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
